Deepening Hyundai’s Commitment to Europe
Hyundai’s dedication to Europe is tangible in many aspects: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) in Nošovice just celebrated the production of its five-millionth vehicle, a TUCSON Hybrid. This milestone reflects long-term stability, technological maturity and production in Europe for Europe. Hyundai Motor Türkiye (HMTR), the brand’s plant in Izmit, is preparing to manufacture its first electric vehicle, the IONIQ 3, later this year.
Both plants as well as the Research & Development center at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) in Germany saw major investments to further strengthen Hyundai’s EV footprint in the European region. With a €150 million investment in the new Square Campus, Hyundai expanded its facilities at HMETC by an additional 25,000m² last year, transforming it into one of the most advanced automotive R&D centers in Europe. At Izmit, Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in Türkiye, the company invested €250 million to transform the facility with a redesigned EV body floor, high-voltage battery integration and power electronics, and there will be even more investments done during the upcoming years. The Nošovice plant in Czech Republic was likewise expanded in 2025 to support BEV battery production and assembly, totaling over €2 billion invested since its opening in 2008.
